Forum rules

Feline Pine’s Cat Forums operate under a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times for any offenses in a three month period. If it is necessary for a fourth warning, a provisional ban will be put in place of between 1 to 7 days.  If the violation is considered serious, it will lead to an immediate ban without warning.  Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact an administrator.  If it is determined that the user was unfairly treated, the strike will be removed.

1) Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting and make posts in the appropriate forum.  Users constantly posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning. Do not create duplicate posts.

2) Posts should be made in a way that is considerate of other users. Insults and inappropriate language will not be accepted and will lead to a warning or ban.

3) If a member observes an issue which breaches something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of the Forum Moderator/and or Administrator.

4) Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be accepted and will lead to a warning or possible ban.

5) Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.

6) Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline () image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.

7) Members should post in a way which is consistent with “normal writing”.
That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.

8) Spam is not accepted in these forums under any circumstance. This includes posting a URL to your services, affiliate links, or a competing web site. It also includes sending spam via private messages. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed or edited.

9) The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is interpreted as offensive, spam, etc. is up to the forum moderator and not users.

10) E-mail addresses or URLs may not be used as user names. URLs to competitor’s websites are not allowed in a user’s profile.

11) Posting a suicide note (any post stating that you intend to leave the site because you are unhappy with our policies/administration; ie, “You guys are mean, I’m taking my ball and going home") will result in your immediate banning. We assume that since you are leaving, you will no longer need access to your account anyway. If you should happen to change your mind, you’ll need to contact the admins directly to explain and/or apologize before you can be reinstated.

12) “I’m back” posts are considered the opposite of “Suicide” / “I’m leaving” posts. The only exception to this is an “I’m going to be away” post or something similar. “I’m back” posts are suitable only if you have been on holiday or something happened at home which caused you to be away, and which you want to share. Being away from the forum for a few weeks does not give reason for an “I’m back” thread. These threads will be removed and those members who post such threads repeatedly will be subject to a possible warning.

13) Text in signatures is subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, warez, emoticons, etc. Links are permitted in signatures. Links to offensive sites will be removed. No links are permitted to competing cat websites. No affiliate links are allowed. Users abusing these rules will be warned.

14) Users are permitted to utilize a gallery avatar or to link to one of their own (subject to previous points on misuse of bandwidth). User defined avatars are to be no larger than 120 pixels square, they may contain some animation (no flashing please), contain no image which attempts to portray the user as having an official status here (e.g. mimicking ranks or copying avatars of team members), may not exceed 10KB in file size and have a consistently high availability (i.e. links to images on slow servers or those prone to failure may be removed).Avatars are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, etc. Users abusing these rules will be warned and/or may lose their avatar privileges.

15) Any attempt to get around a temporary ban will result in a permanent ban.  This includes but is not limited to: re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account of evade an email ban, posting as an anonymous user.
