Kinda new to the FP stuff - been using it for several months now and will not go back to the clay.  EVER!  I also purchased the sifting litter boxes to make things easier and they are worth every penny.

However, I do have a request/question.  Are you (they?) going to make any larger sizes?  My cats are huge or anything, but a couple of them seem cramped.  They also sometimes “miss” when they go #2.  This is because the boxes might be a tad bit too small.

Please, PLEASE can we get a larger box??

Hi Kris,

As of right now I don’t think that they are going to be making any larger litter boxes.  Sorry :(.  I will pass your request for some larger sizes to the appropriate person and maybe he will consider making some in the future.

Thanks,

Definately seconding the larger box idea!! Ive been wanting to get the sifting box since I’d heard about it, but the dimensions sound too small for my oversized brood. And since you can’t go to a store and look it over… well, it just isn’t worth the $ plus the shipping and handling for something I won’t be able to use. I can’t see why FP wouldn’t want to put out a larger box, just look at all the posts here from people with a multi-cat households! Not to mention the catteries and shelters!

And I’m still thinking the FP storage container is a good idea. Even if you just run it as a special marketing event/special purchase like they’ve been known to do for dry cat food. I know I’d pay more for a big bag of FP if it came packaged in a handy storage container!  Or better yet, a container on wheels… (ok I know I’m pushing it there). You wouldn’t need to get it that way all the time, but if it was a limited edition deal with a big new FP logo on it, I think it would do good! Plus it would definately help convince those of us with limited storage space to invest in the BIG bags of FP without worrying about it spilling everywhere in between litterbox changes. And less packaging means less waste… Just a suggestion… : )

Hi Charlene ~

I’ve been using FP for 11 years now, and only once did I ever have a spill when my Scottie jumped up and knocked the bag out of my arms.  I’ve always purchased the largest size bag.  I cut a 3-inch corner off for the pour spout, and close it up with a large chip clip.  Works perfectly.  Of course, for years the bag would sit with the picture upside down, and I never did understand that.  Longtime users would know what I mean.

I’ve been using FP for ~5 years now, and I haven’t had many spillage issues… except when I wasn’t paying attention and picked up the bag from the wrong end… whoops! : P

I typically have to buy the smaller bags because I can’t find the larger ones. I get my FP mainly from Wal Mart and sometimes Target. There are 4 WMs and 3 Ts I can get to on a regular basis, and only 2 Ts and 2 WMs have any FP at all, and T is the only place you can find clumping. The ones that carry FP only stock the smaller bags, and even then, half the time I go to pick some up they’re out of stock, so I usually buy my bags 3 at a time whenever I see them. I was soooo excited when I found the larger bags at the WM a mile from my house!!! But they only had them there that one time. *grrr*

I can find FP in both sizes at some of the pet stores, but the prices are DOUBLE what I pay at WM or T, so I don’t buy from there unless I really need it. And since my kitties like to climb on the big bags and paw at them a bit, my main worry is that one of these days I’m going to pick up one of those big bags and find out a little too late that someone has been clawing at the bottom a little too much.

Hubby HATES the big bags though, and complains about them always being in the way. I don’t like putting the bags out in the garage where bugs and stuff can get at it before I can use it, so they usually wind up in the bottom of the kitchen pantry, or on the floor just outside the pantry if it’s full. I was hoping for a more space-saving preferably more attractive alternative to showing all my guests all my catlitter.  I could go out and pick up my own storage container for it, but since I’ve only bought small bags for the last few months, it’s pretty much a moot point for me until I can lock down a steady source for the big guns. I saw a tall rolling container that almost did the trick. It was meant for dry pet food, but it would have been perfect for the FP except it wasn’t quite big enough to hold the large bags. I’ll keep an eye out to see if I can find a bigger one.

Charlene ~

Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to not be able to find Feline Pine.  When I moved to SC from Central Florida, I filled my car with bags of the stuff, afraid I’d never find it again.  Do you have a Publix nearby?  I can get the the small and large bags in the Publix up here, and the prices are better than a pet supply.  I don’t know if the prices are equivalent to Target and WalMart, as I haven’t seen it those stores here, although I haven’t looked in about a year.  Only the pet supply carries the supersize bags, at least they did.  I buy about a six months’ supply at a time.  Memories of searching and begging for six years, and car trips to FL to get the stuff, have still not faded from my mind.

I hope you’re complaining to management every time you find the stores out of stock.  It could be they’re just not carrying enough of it for their customer base.  Same thing if they carried it, but no longer do.  If no one complains, nothing will be done about it.

Sean, are you reading these posts?  Charlene should not have to scramble to find a steady source for your product, especially not in Florida!

Gail, I do have a couple of Publix’s nearby, and I have seen the FP, but so far not in the larger bags. I do complain to the stores about the in-stock situation, but so far I haven’t noticed it making a difference. We’ll just keep up the fight and see where it goes!

Holly, go back to the forum home page and scroll down to Forum Help. Click on the thread for changing your avatar. I’ll re-post on it so it jumps up to the top. Thant should help with the kitty pictures! BTW, Gail, LOVE your cat playing solitaire!!

The sifting box for FP is a great idea; perhaps broadening the selection will result in more orders.....
