We all know how great feline pine is.  The bag also talks of using the used litter as compost.  Has anyone done this?  Im a little skeptical because of the amonia in the urine.  Wouldn’t that be bad for the plants?

Feline Pine is easily composted.  The ammonia in the cat’s urine is neutralized by the pine rendering it harmless to plants.  It is recommended that you only use the composted litter for gardens that do not contain plants that will be consumed, such as vegetable gardens.  It is best used as a mulch around trees, bushes, flowers, etc.  I hope this helps.
