My cat loves to play fetch.  I have some sheepskin mouse toys that he absolutely loves.  They are soft and easily bitten down on so they make a perfect object to fetch.  I’m worried because next year I will be living in a different apt. so the long hallway that makes fetch possible will no longer exist.  We’ll have to adapt I suppose.  Anyone else have a cat that likes to play fetch?

Thats so cute. i wish my cats would fetch. I’m teaching them to walk on a leash though so they can come with the dogs and me when we go for walks. 

Any strategy you used to teach your cat fetch, or is it something he picked up on his own?

He really started doing it on his own.  I threw the mouse, he thought that was great, and then brought it back for more. 
I will tell you that it’s not always a great trick.  Sometimes he needs a lot more fetch than I can give!

Kitty loves to play fetch. We have these little balls that we throw to him. He will bat them around for a little bit and then bring it back to you to throw again.  Although he has been getting a bit lazy lately and stops bring the ball back after a couple throws.

My cat loves to fetch too.  Her favorite fetching toy, oddly enough, are these orange ear plugs you can get from Wal-mart.  I used to wear them to help me sleep when I had housemates.  Like your cat, she also just started doing it on her own.  I used to wake up in the morning surrounded by stuff she had brought me in the middle of the night to throw for her.

Haha, I wake up to toys, too.  Or, as soon as I’m awake, he’ll pounce on top of me and drop the mouse right there so I can throw it.
